Cobb PR lands winning blow to help promote Taekwon-Do World Cup

Busy month for Cobb PR with four new clients

BRIGHTON was the venue for the official 2012 ITF Taekwon-Do World Cup and Cobb PR helped to promote the thrilling event.Leading association Vision Taekwon-Do (TKD) England secured the right to were successful in securing TKD a demonstration in front of 7,000 spectators at the Sussex County Cricket Ground and a mighty 25,000 Albion fans at the Amex stadium.

More than 1,600 competitors with 160 clubs and associations from 46 different countries competed at the World Cup at the Brighton Centre which took place from October 4 - 7.

Clubs and associations from across the UK have trained and entered the event and following Team GB's recent Gold and Bronze medals at London's 2012 Olympics, there were a record number of entrants for this year’s competition.

They kicked and punched their way through a range of disciplines from technical and skill events to the brand new 'Power Test Event', where individuals must break as many boards as possible with only their hands and feet.

Philip Lear, ITF 2012 World Cup organiser and Chairman of Vision TKD England, said: “We are really excited about this year’s event. We won the bid to host the World Cup last year in New Zealand and have been working tirelessly to get everything ready.

“Brighton is a beautiful city with a deep respect for different cultures, so it is the perfect place to showcase Taekwon-Do as the sport teaches competitors respect from an early age.”
