Where budgets permit, the Cobb PR team offer follow-up training surgeries and can video the day to ensure you are benefiting from our training sessions and your course notes are not gathering dust in your office bookcase.

The team regularly carries out training and workshops for a wide variety of companies, ranging from small businesses to multi-nationals.

From your own offices or ours in Eastbourne and Brighton, our training courses include:

  • Writing skills
  • How to deliver a great interview
  • Handling media enquiries
  • How to write a press release
  • Working with your local and specialist media
  • Working with the media in a crisis

Our most popular training course is the TV interview. Using a professional TV reporter and cameraman, we demistify the whole process with the aim of putting you at ease in front of a camera. Some people take to it, others struggle.

Heading up our TV interview team is Ceri Perkins, who became our training partner in August 2015.

Ceri has 17 years' experience in television journalism and has worked as a news presenter and reporter with BBC South East Today and HTV News West.

As a trainer with Cobb PR, Ceri offers great insight into the role of a TV journalist, their needs and how to ensure you give a great TV interview ...even if you are a complete novice.

Ceri said: "I loved my time as a senior broadcast journalist and I am really excited that I can now pass on a few tips and some tricks of the trade. Our courses will help delegates understand how journalists work, how they approach a story and what it's like to stand in front of a camera and face a few tough questions.

"And while delegates are guaranteed to feel the adrenalin rush, I promise that they will come away from the course with a far greater empathy for the media and a belief in their own skills in delivering a solid interview in sometimes difficult circumstances."
